About Tall Cockatoo Club

Why does this website exist, and what can I expect to find here?

Tall Cockatoo Club is an independent publication launched in October 2025 by Ross Poulton. Here, you'll find his occasional thoughts on things of interest to a tall, aging, tech-loving suburban dad.

With a productive edible garden close to native bushland, there’s no shortage of birdlife. Hence the name: this blog is named for the squawking Cockatoos who strip our cherry trees of fruit the day before we plan to pick them.

Subscriptions

The main website feed (including use of RSS, if you're an old nerd like me) is free and all content is available. But if you want to support the site or receive updates by email (given that newsletters are so cool right now) a A$5 month (A$50/year) membership card will get you emails each time a new post is made.

These paid subscriptions are entirely optional but keep the site afloat.

Is this a club?

Yeah, not really. But the name is fun right?
