Watch recommendation: Listers
Two brothers get high, have a laugh at their parents birdwatching book, then dive head-first into a “big year” of travelling the US to log as many bird species as they can find.
This isn’t a movie I thought I was going to love - both because it’s funny but also a great documentary with beautiful bird footage and some great characters. It’s perfectly shot and balances humour and interest nicely.
I don’t think further explanation will help me better convince you to go and watch “Listers: A Glimpse Into Extreme Birdwatching”
Most surprising of all, it’s entirely free on YouTube! The brothers also seem to have turned their drawings and newfound knowledge into a birding guide.
If you don't have a full two hours, the trailer gives you a great peek into the pacing and humour of this film.
